Ode to Mother

I gotta new tattoo, don't worry ma, this time no one can see.
It's black and blue, they're Simon's favorite colors and daddy's too,
don't you think it's kind of neat, I've only known him just one week and now he's movin' in with me...
Mother, I have much to tell you, there's no need for your concern, there's no need for you to worry anymore. .

I gotta brand new job, those bankers, they were crazy, said I was always late
well, I don't care 'cause now I'm makin' real good money you won't believe this lucky chance,
all I have to do is dance in this tiny sequined outfit behind glass...
Mother, I have much to tell you, there's no need for your concern,
there's no need for you to worry anymore

Oh mother look at me I'm floating in the middle of this Technicolor dream.
It's you and only you I owe my life to for the knowledge I have gained,
without your wisdom and your guidance who knows where I might be today..

Look ma, I have to go, oh, I forgot to tell you that I've had to move again,
the neighbors went ballistic, thought the band was much too loud,
well, mother you'd be so proud, I've got this abandoned lot downtown and yeah, well, it's kind of weird, there's no one else around...
